In light of the recent forest fires populating Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia, it amazes me how there can be such beauty within such destruction.
I took a drive out last night with the soul intention of capturing some of the colour the smoke creates in our sunset sky. It makes for some fiery looking images.
Below, you can see a cruise ship in Campbell River, making its way through the brownish haze… usually you can see mountains in the background, but the smoke covers like a dense fog albeit more gloomier.
I pray that every fire fighter in any capacity.. will remain safe, I pray that towns being evacuated will be able to return to their homes and cities intact and undamaged.
I pray we will have rain – to off set this overly dry spell and help decrease chances of more fires.
I hope people will use common sense and decency and be smart about not causing more fires!!
I do believe this forecast from Enviro Canada is a historical one, in more ways than one!
Enjoy this summer – but do be respectful of our wildlife, forests and people who live in those areas.
